November craziness...
To start off the second half of the semester, my friends and I had a hymn sing in the racquetball courts and invited a ton of people. At one point I think there were 50 or 60! It was awesome.
Then last weekend, my sister came to visit! She is a junior in high school, and came with a busload of students from our home area. It was Halloween on Friday, so there were plenty of festivities going on. In the evening, the professors' kids walked through the dorms and we all handed out candy to them. They were very cute! At 10:30, the Yoder RAs planned a connector night life activity, with a dance, food, and a movie upstairs. There was a competition for costumes, as well. I wasn't really planning on dressing up, but some of my friends convinced me to, so I was a "flapper" with random accessories because we didn't have any real flapper clothes! Some of my guy friends decided to have a "bachelor party" and some of them dressed as girls and went in a group. It was pretty funny, and they won second in the group contest! Then on Saturday night, a huge group of us drove to a cemetery and played sardines, which was fun.
This weekend is a little more chill than last weekend, and I am spending a lot of time studying, or at least I should be. I went to see the mainstage, Saint Plays, last night, which were very good, though also very abstract. I also dyed my hair for the first time last night, on a whim! It was a fun experience to do with friends, though.
Well, enough procrastinating for now... Enjoy the pictures! :)

Fall fun!
Then we had several days back at Goshen to do whatever we wanted. I did some homework, but mostly hung out with a few friends who were on campus and took a much slower pace. I definitely caught up on much-needed sleep as well! One exciting and different thing I did Wednesday was going to the Obama campaign office in Goshen to volunteer for a couple hours, calling people about early voting as well as signing up potential volunteers for the next two weeks as the presidential election nears! It was pretty exciting to be there, and I can imagine it would be really energizing to see a huge group of people so excited about the election.
Sadly, school has to start again, but at least it's the weekend now! I don't have too much to do immediately, but a lot to do in the next several weeks that I desperately need to start working on! We'll see how that goes...
In the meantime, have a great weekend! Pictures are from the Wheaton choir trip and a recent bike ride around town :)

Midterm Busyness
This weekend, actually right now, Women's Choir is going to Wheaton College (IL) to sing several songs in three worship services and have a workshop with a local youth choir that is interested in international music! That should be fun, but it also means we don't have much of a weekend to catch up with things, and we have to miss Kick Off tonight.
Last night, I went to New World Arts to see Urinetown, a musical that is kind of hard to describe, but really funny. I had a friend in it, and I really enjoyed it. Not having any expectations going in, I was definitely impressed. If any of you live in the Goshen area, I would recommend going any of the next three weekends. You can find information about the show at http://www.newworldarts.org.
Last weekend was homecoming, and my parents came out, even though they didn't go to Goshen. They enjoyed my choir concert, and we also went out to dinner and to the one act Peace Plays, which were very good. Saturday night there was a swing dance hour after off campus, which was a lot of fun! You can check out pictures here.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Celebrating Service and Mennonite Relief!
Last Wednesday there was also a pretty epic men's soccer game, which Goshen sadly lost by an unfortunate own goal in the second half. But the fans were still very supportive, and it was a lot of fun to cheer the team on anyway!
This weekend was the much-looked-forward-to Michiana Mennonite Relief sale! Friday evening I biked over to the Elkhart County fairgrounds with some friends to enjoy the ethnic food, apple cider, fellowship, and more. Plus the weather could not have been better! Then Saturday morning, as if I didn't get enough of the relief sale Friday, some of my friends and I biked back again to buy plants to decorate the dorm rooms and yummy apple fritters! (we didn't feel like waiting in the absurdly long line for the famous pancakes-and-sausage breakfast)
There was also connector "night life" saturday, which made it a very busy and fun weekend! Sadly, I'm kind of sick, as well as several of my friends, but I'm trying to be positive about it! This week should be good, but Mondays are always hard to get through... Well, enjoy your week!

and... we're back!
It has been fun getting to know the new girls on my hall already! There are 8 returning sophomores, and 17 first-years on Kratz 1 this year! We had a floor activity last Friday, which was actually a "floor date" with Kratz 4. We made smoothies in the connector and watched Aladdin! It was a lot of fun, and a good time to reminisce about childhood :)
Also this weekend, there was connector night life, sponsored by campus activities council (CAC). There was apparently ice cream that I missed, but I got to play capture the flag and watch guitar hero! It was a lot of fun. Then on Sunday, some of my friends and I went to Assembly Mennonite for church and a hymn sing, after which was a potluck dinner! It was delicious :)
So college life is starting to get a bit more busy now with the second week, but I'm definitely determined to enjoy it. Have a great week!

August already?!
Besides that, I've been able to have fun with friends and family nearly every weekend and in the evenings. My family took a vacation to Utah and Colorado in June, which was a lot of fun, and recently we spent a few days at Raystown Lake (central PA) with my dad's family.
I have also enjoyed catching up with good friends from high school and seeing some from college, as well. One of my best memories of the summer so far was going with a friend to a music festival in New Jersey, sponsored by my favorite local radio station, XPN. :)
Below I've posted some pictures from fun activities this summer... enjoy!

Chicago, Camping, et cetera.
Last Sunday, my Humanities (art and theatre) class took a field trip to Chicago to go to the art museum and see a play. It was a bit rainy, but still lots of fun! We had time to walk around the city a bit as well, which was nice. The play we saw was called Dead Man's Cell Phone, by Sarah Ruhl. I really enjoyed it, and also after having read two other plays by Sarah Ruhl, she is quickly becoming one of my favorite playwrights.
This week seemed to fly by very quickly! Yesterday there was a floor volleyball tournament, music and cookout all afternoon hosted by Res Life. It was fun to relax outside and watch volleyball, even if the weather wasn't ideal. Now I'm preparing to go camping with several friends this weekend, which takes more preparation than I had anticipated! But I'm sure it will be a lot of fun.
Hopefully I can post some pictures from various excursions soon! I probably won't write again until I'm home for the summer, but until then...

May Term!
Before May Term, I went home to PA for the week. I got to see my family and hang out with some of my friends who had gotten home from college last week. That was a lot of fun, but very short! I was definitely glad to return to Goshen, though, because I wasn't ready to say goodbye to all of my friends here!
Yesterday was kind of gray and rainy, but CAC sponsored a scavenger hunt, with prizes for the first three groups to finish. We biked around campus, taking digital pictures in a certain order of members of our group doing various things. My group actually finished third, which was awesome, and we got $15 to the Brew! I included some pictures below of the experience... There were quite a few injuries, but I think it was worth it!
Today, Maple City Chapel (about 10 min bike ride from campus) hosted "Diversity Day," which included lots of good ethnic food and some dances and music performances. Some of my friends and I biked over for lunch and then stopped at Goodwill for some cheap shopping!
May Term is great because we only have one class, and therefore only one class to do homework for! I do have quite a bit of reading to do for Monday, though. So I'll get on that now, I guess. Enjoy May!
Adios!

Heading into Finals Week!
So, one major thing that happened since I wrote a few weeks ago was travelling to South Dakota with a bunch of friends for Freeman's Schmeckfest, a festival of tasting, which means we were spared 'Rott food for a few days! It was a great trip, though. We all piled into one van to make the 11-hour journey, and there were lots of memories made on the trip. I've included some of my friend's pictures below!
Last week was another busy one, especially because I found out at the last minute that I would get a chance to see Barack Obama speak in South Bend on Wednesday! Needless to say, I jumped at the chance, and spent several hours of my day driving there, waiting, and listening to a potential future president. It was awesome! (and there are some pictures, too)
Tomorrow is the last official day of spring semester! I'm trying not to think about school ending yet, though, because we still have all of May Term... but the end definitely is in sight. I'm not sure how I feel about that. I have really come to love Goshen, especially now that the weather is getting nicer and I can be outside! I am definitely excited for the next few weeks, though. I will try not to let them go by too quickly!
Until next time...

Happy April!
So, we're starting to get into the busy time of the semester! Projects and papers are due soon, and I am realizing just how much I need to catch up on before studying for finals! in three weeks! This semester has gone by so quickly (I was surprised it was already 12 days since I last blogged)! Okay, enough exclamation points. But I actually am excited right now because I just registered for classes for next year, and it's looking to be another great year.
Some stresses besides homework right now are housing sign-ups! We drew lottery numbers yesterday (I'm pretty high up, so that's good), and we have to sign up next week! I hope I can get on a hall with a lot of my friends, and I don't want anyone to be disappointed, but we'll see how it goes.
Also, I am going home with a friend this weekend to South Dakota (with eight friends!) and so will be missing some classes, but it should be a lot of fun!
Some things on campus that have been happening recently are the mainstage play, which I saw last weekend and would definitely recommend! It's called Absolutely! {perhaps}, and it's a slightly confusing play about one family that comes to town, and everyone gossips about the truth of their family. It definitely makes your mind work!
A few weeks ago was the International Student Coffeehouse, and you can see pictures here. Another fun event this past weekend was the GSWA (Goshen Student Women's Association) Chocolate House! Although I don't like chocolate, it was still an awesome evening celebrating women's talent in art, music, poetry, and more. It was seriously one of the best coffeehouse-type things I've attended all year! I think one of my friends took some pictures, so I'll try to post them when I can!
I hope you all have a wonderful April! Until next time...
I kind of wish I had planned something good for April Fool's Day, but alas, I have too much work to do...

Spring is almost here!
Easter is also this weekend, which is very exciting because that means we have off tomorrow! I love my classes, but it is nice once in a while to have an extra break day. Many of my friends are going home, but a few are staying for the weekend (including me).
So, since my last blog, what have I been up to? I joined an indoor soccer team, never having played soccer before, but some of my friends convinced me to play! We lost our first game terribly, 8-0, but it's good to be humbled every once in a while, right? Friday night there was a connector night life with food, music, and games, and it was fun just hanging out. Saturday there was a GC Songwriter's Collective event at the Brew downtown, so I went to that for a while also. Yesterday, there was a luncheon for GC women staff, and my supervisor at the library was organizing a kind of modeling show during it. She took a couple of the library workers down to the Whistle Stop, the local MCC thrift shop, to borrow outfits to model at the luncheon! It was fun, and I've included a picture of some of the models. :)
Have a great Easter and first day of spring! Until next time...

Back to School
This week it was good to get back to doing school, and get back into a schedule. We also had a week off from choir, to help us get our voices back after tour, which was good because I was kind of sick.
This weekend, I agreed to host some prospective students for a seniors weekend. On Friday, there was a carnival in the Rec-Fit center, which was pretty amusing. They had typical blow-up activities, and it was fun watching people make fools of themselves :P
Also this weekend was the International Coffeehouse. Sadly, I didn't get tickets in time for the dinner, which I heard was awesome, but I went to the show afterwards, which was sweet. They had performances from many countries and showcased some where students at Goshen are from. This is an annual event, so I am definitely looking forward to next year already!
Enjoy the pictures! (they're low quality because I copied them from my friend's videos)

Spring Break - Choir Tour!
We started our tour last Wednesday evening with a trip up to Grand Rapids, Michigan, where we sang Thursday morning for the American Choral Directors Association. After returning to Goshen for a couple hours, we left again Friday morning for Kidron, OH. Saturday and Sunday were spent in Lancaster, PA, and Monday in Philadelphia and Blooming Glen, PA. Tuesday after singing at Christopher Dock (my high school!), we drove up to New York City, where I'm writing from my hotel room. Tomorrow we leave at 8:30 for Pittsburgh, PA, then back to Goshen on Friday!
So we've had 12 or so concerts, and so many incredible experiences! It's been so much fun being in New York the past couple of days, and walking around Philly and Lancaster for a couple hours as well. One of my favorite parts was definitely singing at Blooming Glen, because so many of my family and friends were there, and I felt really connected to the audience. I was very glad to stay at my house (if only for a couple hours...) and see my family a bit!
So maybe later I'll post again with some specifics from tour, but until then be sure to check out the blog and some encouraging comments about our concerts!

February in Goshen
So, midterms are coming up already this week! In fact, I am procrastinating on many homework projects right now. I have a paper due tomorrow, one due Wednesday, at least three tests or quizzes, and lots of reading! But I'm not really complaining, because I love my classes, and my work is usually fun.
Besides school and homework, I've also been able to do some fun things in the past couple of week/ends... lots of late-night hanging out in the connector, and some planned events, like the Hour After a while back. Kim Glick and friends performed lots of familiar songs for a fun evening of listening and some dancing. Many people said it was the best Hour After this year! Hopefully I will be able to post some pictures from that. Last night, some of my friends played and sang a few songs for a connector night life while we drank hot chocolate and decorated cookies (which I gave to people because I gave up desserts for Lent!) So I've had some nice, relaxing times as well as the more stressful getting-ready-for-midterms-and-choir-tour times.
Though I am very glad to call Goshen home, I am also extremely excited for midterm (spring?) break next week! The next time I post will be after our choir tour, and I'm sure I will have a lot to say after that!
Adios!

Kick-Off and more!
Some things that have been happening:
Last weekend was the one acts, called "Street Scenes," which were awesome! All of the plays were very good, and I especially loved the last opera scene, from Lady in the Dark. A lot of my friends, and first-years in general, participated, so that was great to see.
After one acts on Saturday, the GC campus celebrated spring semester with Kick-Off, a huge talent competition. All of the acts were amazing, as usual, and one of my friends, first-year Scott Kempf, and his brother won with an acoustic version of Hey-Yah. It was incredible! You can check out videos and pictures from Kick-Off and more on GC Journal, our student TV news broadcast.
I've been spending time working at the library (new job this semester) and doing a lot of homework, but I really enjoy my classes! Also, women's choir is very busy getting ready for our spring break tour in two weeks! It will be awesome! I'll post a link later to direct you to the website where you'll be able to read about our adventures and see some awesome pictures!
Well, right now I have to finish studying for a European history exam tomorrow morning... until next time!

GSWA retreat
This weekend, I went to the GSWA (Goshen Student Women's Association) retreat Friday night to Saturday. About 35 GC women traveled to Brunk's Cabin in Michigan for the overnight retreat. We had a nice soup supper, talked and laughed a lot, and had some time of reflection as Tamara Shantz, associate campus pastor, led us in some prayer practices. It was a wonderfully relaxing time!
Last night, I tried to go to the New World Arts 24/7 performance, which some of my friends were in and helped write. Apparently we got there too late - one of my friends and I just barely didn't make it in (At a sixty-seat theatre, not surprising). So I heard about it from other people, and came back to college and watched Titanic instead.
This weekend I'm beginning to feel the stress of homework, as I have quite a bit of reading, writing, and thinking to do! Plus my dad is coming out for a pastor's week, and I would like some time to catch up with him in the next couple of days! So the sleeplessness, continual napping, and general stress of trying to finish projects is beginning for me. But I think I'll be alright, I mean it's college, and that's pretty much our life!
Until next time (and maybe i'll find some pictures to post!)...
So, I guess it's about time for another blog entry... The days seem to pass by so quickly, both the weekends and the weekdays! It's crazy. I'm hoping spring semester doesn't just rush by.

Entering Spring? Semester
So, now I've been to all of my classes at least twice, and am starting to get back into the swing of things. I just started a new campus job at the library, where I work at the desk as well as shelve books. I've always wanted to work at a library or bookstore, so it's fun.
I have some pretty great classes right now, like philosophy, sociology, and design, that I'm really excited about. We're reading Plato in philosophy now, and I'm really enjoying it. European history with John D. Roth should also be a good class.
Women's Choir is amazing, as always! We're preparing for tour now, and it is going to be great. I'm especially excited to spend a night in my house! And a day or two in New York City...
So it was nice to be back and see college friends again! It's been great catching up, just hanging out, watching movies, playing games, etc. And now I should go to supper, so goodbye for now!
Well, it certainly has gotten colder since arriving a little over a week ago... but I am sure I'll get used to the weather soon.

Wrapping up Christmas break...
But I suppose that's kind of what break is supposed to be like. It's a relief to finally have no obligations (or very few, at least) and just sit around. During the semester I always feel guilty for not doing anything, or having fun when I should be working on a project.
This break, I was treated with the ultimate break: a four-day vacation with my family in Riviera Maya, Mexico! Besides it being beautiful, it was hot! The food was good, and the weather was perfect. I posted some pictures from the trip below.
So, tomorrow ends this month-long vacation, and classes start Wednesday! I'm excited for spring semester, and will be happy to see college friends again.
Adios for now, until I'm back in Goshen!

Merry (almost) Christmas!
Last Saturday, a few of my Goshen friends from Lancaster came to my area and four of us took the train to Philadelphia for the day! It was really nice to just walk around the city and not have anything to do, and be able to see some friends outside of school.
I also went to see my high school (Christopher Dock)'s Christmas concert on Monday, which was weird, because I've never sat in the audience. But it was nice to see some other friends that showed up, and hang out at Applebee's afterwards. I've been to a few basketball games as well, because my sister is starting varsity this year. I'm glad I can be there to support her, because I hardly see her otherwise!
On Wednesday, my mom took off work and she and I went skiing because my early birthday present was new skis and boots! I'm kind of disappointed that there aren't many good slopes around Goshen, but I might have to take a day trip sometime.
One of my good friends just got her wisdom teeth out, so a few of my friends are going to visit her today! I made jello jigglers just for the occasion :)
I hope all of you readers are enjoying the Christmas season! God bless.

Hooray for Christmas break!
But it's nice to be home. In fact, I've compiled a little list of reasons I love Christmas break/ being home:
~it's slightly warmer than Indiana
~I don't have any homework
~a real bed, and my own room
~don't have to pay for laundry
~showering without sandals, and not having to wait
~not having to move my toiletries in and out of the shower
~I can eat any cereal I want, regardless of whether it's made in bulk
~ditto for all foods
~speaking of food, it's so much better! and I can drink our own fresh neighborhood milk :)
~less time wasted (facebook...) because I'm not trying to avoid homework
~my birthday will be here in less than two weeks
~ditto for Christmas!!!
So, there you have it. There's probably some more things I'm missing, but maybe I'll add to it later.
I hope all of you enjoy this Advent season in preparation for the birth of Jesus. God bless!
Well, my finals were done last Friday morning, and I left almost immediately afterwards to make the 11 hour trip home to PA! I came with two other girls, so the trip didn't seem as long. Finals week wasn't as bad as it could have been, I thought. There was still enough time to hang out with people and have a little fun while studying. Also, the first real snow came on Tuesday (I think...), so it was fun to be out playing in the snow for a bit!

Giving Thanks (a bit late...)
This weekend, again, is another big choir one, this time the Festival of Carols! (pictures are up - see if you can find me in #22) It's a fairly big event, with Sauder Hall decked out, and full houses three nights. Also, they have been video recording the past couple of days, and are going to show it on December 24 and 25 in the Goshen area and also in Indianapolis, which means that it will reach over 200,000 people! (If you live in the area, please check out the website for the times and stations! It will be awesome!)
As far as school goes, I've been doing well, trying to get some sleep, although I tend to procrastinate on things... I'm not too nervous about most of my finals, but I'm going to have to study a lot for my bio one because I tend to not read the textbook as much as I should! But I'm sure it will be fine; I'm trying not to stress myself out about my finals.
Next time I post, I will probably be home for Christmas break! yay :)

School of Assassins
The protest this weekend was a time to lament
together the inhumane acts of people trained at
such an institution. It was difficult hearing stories
of those affected by the school, and the Sunday
funeral procession was humbling. Victims of
various SOA actions were named, and, carrying
crosses with their names, the group responded,
“presente,” to show solidarity with our Latin
American sisters and brothers. It was a very
profound and powerful experience, and through it I
believe I was better able to connect with those who
have been directly affected by the SOA.
This annual protest is also a good place to learn
about other relevant world issues. During the
protest, there were many booths from
organizations representing a variety of related
issues, from the Iraq war and other military affairs
to environmental issues, trade policies, poverty,
and women’s rights. At first, it was hard for me to
focus on the issue for which we came: closing the
School of the Americas. I found the presence of the
other issues distracting, as though they were all
vying for my attention and support. Upon
returning, however, I realized how amazing it was
that the SOA protest could also provide the
information for people to become more passionate
about many other issues that are so interrelated.
I came away from the protest wondering what good
could possibly happen as a result. I understood
from the beginning that the fact that 25,000
people would show up to protest the school would
have minimal direct effect on its closing, quite
honestly. In my eyes, the point is to show our
support for the movement as well as our sisters and
brothers in Latin America. What I was hoping for
was a greater understanding of the significance of
the SOA, and a renewed passion for working
towards its closing.
So did my traveling to Ft. Benning make an impact?
Did I accomplish my goals? Will anything change? I
don’t know. One positive, very direct effect of my
participation in this protest was my ability to talk to
others about the school and tell my friends about
my experience. Granted, this strategy will not
immediately change the world. But I believe that by
convincing individuals of the importance of issues
such as the School of the Americas as well as
pressuring the government to make changes, we
can transform society from both the top and the
bottom.
p.s. photo credits to my fellow SOA protesters!

Wow. (I need better titles)
This week was another full one! I attended church
with my roommate, went to dinner at a professor's
house for Table Grace, saw Oceans 13 (finally!) in
our RD's apartment, saw SiCKO
and listened in on a conference call with Michael
Moore, and went to see Godspell performed at Bethany
Christian School! I was disappointed to miss out on
some other activities, like Farther Along's (a capella
men's group on campus) final concert, although I
know it's not at all possible to do every interesting
thing on campus! But I'm glad I don't have a job at
this point, because the "extra" time really allows me
to explore other really cool happenings!
Speaking of great opportunities, tomorrow a group
of 30 students is traveling down to Columbus,
Georgia, for the weekend to protest the School of the
Americas. I won't write too much about that
now, but hopefully I can blog next week about the
whole experience! I'm sure it will be very
powerful.
Until then... :)
Well, last week was fairly busy! My friend came to
visit for the weekend, which also happened to be
family weekend!
So there were lots of activities going on...
We saw the mainstage play, Step on a Crack, went
to the Lavender Jazz Sound Bites concert,
danced, had a Pride and Prejudice slumber party,
and more. I was also able to finish several papers
and study for tests that turned out well without too
much loss of sleep, thankfully!

First Snow of the Season!
In any case, it certainly is getting colder here in
Indiana! This weekend was the first in a long time
when I didn't see very many people hanging out
outside. It was kind of depressing, but the hot
weather recently has also been weirding me out. :P
Winter has to come eventually, I guess....
This week is another incredibly busy one for me.
We are at 2/3 of the semester, which means I have
a lot of tests and papers... not fun. This past
weekend I spent a lot of time researching and
studying, with only a few breaks of excitement and
fun. But it's good to know that after this week,
most of my projects for the semester will be done!
hallelujah. Actually, right now I am supposed to be
writing a paper for my Religion in the Americas
class that is due tomorrow.... And I also should be
studying for that biology exam.... oh dear.
This coming weekend is going to be crazy! I am
hosting two of my friends from home, who are also
prospective students, and my roommate's sisters
are visiting for family weekend! Not to mention all
the homework I need to be doing while they are
here.
I know I will survive, and I will be grateful for the
time I can spend with people I love, even if it means
sacrificing time to work on a paper.
The pictures are from Halloween last week, when
professors took their kids down the halls and we
gave them candy :)

Choir concerts and interesting speakers!
We're beginning to work on songs for the Festival of
Carols at the end of November now... everyone I've
talked to says this concert is a HUGE deal, and it's
even being broadcast on local tv! So that should be
pretty exciting, although stressful while studying
for finals at the same time.
Besides that large chunk of time last week, it was
also Domestic Violence Awareness Week, with lots
of events on campus. Also, E.O. Wilson, a world-
renowned biologist, etc., came to speak last
Tuesday! Sauder concert hall was packed for
his
lecture, and he also gave a special Q&A session
with students in the afternoon. It was awesome
just
knowing someone of his caliber could come here,
to Goshen!
Coming up tomorrow, writer Courtney Martin is
speaking on her book Perfect Girls, Starving
Daughters, which I haven't read all of,
but I've
heard very
good things about. I love it when we can have
speakers come during the week, and get a little
break from homeworking.
Until next time
:]
p.s. the pictures are from last weekend when my
sister visited!

Fall Break!
We planned to meet in Chicago and hang out for a
couple hours before going back to her college
overnight, and that was a lot of fun, especially since
I've never been to Chicago! It was kind of rainy, but
overall a pretty nice day. Steph and I had a great
time staying with Courtney and meeting her
friends, and I think it was a good break from
everyday college life.
After break, we only two days of school until the
weekend! It was nice. My sister (sophomore in
high school) came to visit on Friday as well! So it
was a busy past two weekends...
~adios~

School Things! Last
week I had two tests I was pretty stressed about, in
Biology and Religion in the Americas, but they went
well, thankfully. Now I have three papers due in the
next two weeks! I tended to be a procrastinator in
high school, and I'm learning that in college, my
previous study habits are not going to work!
Scheduling and prioritizing is definitely important.
Thankfully, I love making lists (crossing things out
makes me happy), so now it's a matter of actually
following through with my study plans.... But
it's always so hard when there are so many fun
things to do instead. One thing I love about
Goshen is the amount of planned weekend
activities. Campus Activities Council (CAC) does a
great job of coming up with campus-wide activities,
and there are often hall activities or events
sponsored by different groups like Latino Student
Union. I’ll try to keep you updated on things going
on during the weekends, and I’ll hopefully get some
pictures from friends uploaded soon!
Until next time…

Hello all! At this point, I have
enough to worry about every day, and I have to
remember that it’s important to focus on the
present. We miss way too much of life if we’re
always waiting in anticipation of the next fun thing
or the next “step” in life. I’ve heard from so many
people that college is THE best time of life, in all
aspects, and I don’t want to rush it. That was
part of my motivation in choosing Goshen College,
or deciding in general that I wanted to attend a
small liberal arts college. I know quite a few people
that seem to think that college is simply getting
enough education to successfully perform in a
career setting. Of course, education is incredibly
important, but I think experiencing many new and
different people is the best part of college. In
the coming months, I hope to give you some idea
of what my life here at Goshen is like! Until
next time, Elizabeth :)
