Graduate Program
Master of Science in Nursing
Family Nurse Practitioner Track

Lead with skill. serve with heart.
Become the family nurse practitioner your community is waiting for.
Goshen College prepares registered nurses for advanced practice through the Master of Science in Nursing . Classes meet in person one evening a week in the newly renovated Center for Nursing and public Health, and your clinical placements are arranged with faculty rather than left to you.
The program is built for working RNs: Classes meet in person, for one evening a week on Tuesdays so you have time to work and study. You will complete a minimum of 750 clinical hours with approved preceptors in a variety of settings. The MSN builds on one of Goshen College’s oldest and most respected programs and its decades-long tradition of nursing education.

Built for working nurses
This program is designed for registered nurses who hold a bachelor’s degree and are ready to step into advanced practice as family nurse practitioners. One evening of class a week keeps your career moving while you study, and a cohort of peers moves through the program alongside you.
Goshen’s MSN emphasizes culturally responsive care and a deep understanding of patients’ lived experiences. You’ll graduate prepared to lead with empathy, listen closely and serve patients from all walks of life with intercultural competence and confidence.

What you’ll study
- Advanced Clinical Core: Build a foundation in pathophysiology, pharmacology, advanced health assessment and leadership for advanced practice.
- Family Nurse Practitioner Track: Care for all ages through courses in pediatrics, women’s health, adult health and a final transition to practice.
- 700+ Clinical Hours: Complete clinical hours with approved preceptors, in placements arranged around your goals.
- Culturally Responsive Care: Care for patients from diverse backgrounds, with real attention to the lived experiences of marginalized communities.

Where you’ll learn, and practice
You’ll train in the newly renovated Center for Nursing and Public Health in the Westlawn building: a 10-bed skills lab, a hospital simulation lab with obstetrics, pediatrics, acute/trauma settings, a six-room exam suite, classrooms and student lounges and huddle rooms.
Hands-on learning is central. You’ll complete clinical placements in nearby hospitals and community settings, practice in simulation and skills labs, and join service-learning like the Goshen Health flu-shot clinic. Goshen’s partnerships with local healthcare organizations put you in real care settings early.
