Facilities

The Schrock Science Annex, in the Science Center, features the chemistry floor, which includes large laboratory facilities utilizing the latest in safety equipment. All chemistry laboratories are fully handicap-accessible.

Teaching facilities

Within the chemistry department there are four different types of laboratories/teaching facilities. Those include lab rooms for general chemistry, organic chemistry, advanced chemistry, and research. Learn more.

Reading room

The chemistry reading room contains a collection chemistry-related literature and resources. The reading room serves as a study and research area for students, as well as a location for impromptu tutoring sessions.

Instrumentation

Goshen specializes in giving its students early and frequent access to complex instruments used in chemistry laboratories: Gas Chromatograph-Mass Spectrometer (GC-MS), Fourier-Transform Infrared Spectrometer (FT-IR), Fourier-Transform Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Spectrometer (FT-NMR), Ultraviolet-Visible Diode-array Spectrometers, High Pressure Liquid Chromatograph (HPLC), and Scanning Fluorometers. Learn more.

Stockroom and support facilities

In addition to the main laboratories, the department also includes an analytical balance lab, an equipment repair shop, stockroom, Chemical Hygiene Office, faculty offices, and an office for Teaching Assistants.
