Title: Radical Love and Intentional Leadership: Insights from Faculty Research
About the Speakers
Dr. Patrick Farran is an Associate Professor of Business at Goshen College and Co-Founder and CEO of Ad Lucem Group. Serving nearly 30 years as a senior leader and consultant, Patrick specializes in change management, culture transformation, and employee engagement across diverse sectors. He co-authored The Intentional Executive: A Purpose-Driven Playbook to Transform Your Leadership, Your Teams, and Your Results, drawing on his research and work with organizations ranging from startups and non-profits to Fortune 100s. He holds a PhD in Values-Driven Leadership from Benedictine University.
Dr. Regina Shands Stoltzfus is a professor at Goshen College whose teaching and scholarship focus on peacebuilding, racial justice, and the lived realities of communities shaped by conflict and resilience. Her work bridges academic research and engaged practice to explore themes such as race, trauma, resistance, and reconciliation. Her third book, Resistance, Resilience, and Radical Love: Reflections on Blackness and Teaching Peace (2025), draws on decades of teaching, scholarship, and experience to explore how to sustain the work of liberation in a world marked by anti-Blackness and unrelenting injustice.

Goshen College’s annual academic symposium takes one day to highlight the amazing research that students have done in the past year. Whether you have a research assignment from a class, a Maple Scholars project, a senior thesis, a publication or faculty research project, this is an opportunity for you to share your work and knowledge with the entire campus.
Goshen College will suspend classes for the day to enable all students and faculty to participate in this celebration academic achievements in all disciplines.
The mission of the annual Academic Symposium is to:
- acknowledge original undergraduate and graduate research and creative works that play an essential role in our academic programs
- encourage students and faculty to contribute to the larger conversation about knowing and knowledge that sustains the academy
- provide a professional development opportunity for students to practice their presentation, research, and performance skills in the context of a liberal arts academic environment
- share with the Goshen College and local community a broad range of academic research and creative works
