Goshen College offers eight undergraduate business programs. Four are available as a full major, and four more are minors you can add to any major on campus.
The Goshen College business department offers business as a major or a minor; accounting as a major; marketing as a major or a minor; and sport management as a major or a minor. Four additional minors are open to students in any major: entrepreneurship, financial management, healthcare management and people and culture management. Every business major also completes at least three credits of experiential learning as a requirement of the degree, and qualifying students can begin coursework in Goshen’s MBA program while undergraduates.
Major or minor. For students who want to run the organization, whatever the organization turns out to be. Choose one of four concentrations.
Major. For students who want to build the numbers other people rely on, and the CPA license that certifies it.
Major or minor. For students who want to work out how people decide, and set the strategy that reaches them.
Major or minor. For students who want to build a career in the business and leadership of sport.
For students who have completed an undergraduate degree or undergraduate students who want to complete the MBA track.
Minor, 18 credits. For students who want to build their own thing, in any field.
Minor, 18 credits. For students who want to read an organization’s numbers and decide what to do about them.
Minor, 21 credits. For students headed into health care who will end up running part of it.
Minor, 18 credits. For students who will lead teams, in any profession.
Every business major completes at least three credits of experiential learning before graduating. You choose how.
Some students take an internship; Some join the student management team that runs Java Junction; Some do job-connected applied learning inside a working organization; and some take on a business process innovation project. Different routes, same requirement, and all of them end with something you have actually run.

The connections I’ve made with classmates, professors and peers have created a sense of belonging and encouraged me to step outside my comfort zone. The business department has provided me with valuable knowledge, hands-on learning opportunities, and mentorship that has strengthened my professional skills and confidence.

Start from the work rather than the title. If you want to run an organization, look at business. If you want to produce the numbers others depend on, accounting. If you want to understand how people decide and set strategy accordingly, marketing. If sport is the industry you want, sport management. And if business is a complement to something else you love, one of the four minors will get you there without changing your major.
Often yes, and many students do. Two combinations are not permitted, because the coursework overlaps too heavily: you cannot double major in Business and Accounting, or in business and marketing. There is also one thing to watch inside the Business major, where choosing the healthcare management or people and culture management concentration rules out the standalone minor of the same name. Your academic advisor can map any combination in a single conversation.

That is common and the department is built for it. Most of these programs share the same first courses, so a student who begins in one and moves to another rarely loses ground. The earlier you talk to an advisor, the less it costs you.
Yes. Once you have earned 60 undergraduate credit hours with a GPA of at least 2.50, you can begin taking courses in Goshen College’s MBA program while still an undergraduate. Ask your academic advisor how to plan for it, since starting early changes the shape of your remaining undergraduate schedule.
Scholarships make up a large portion of Goshen financial aid packages, which average almost $26,000 per student, not counting work-study or loans. Enrolled business students may also qualify for endowed awards including the Sauder Scholarship and the Gorsline Scholarship.
