John D. Yordy became Provost and Executive Vice President of Goshen College in January 1997, following 19 years as a professor in the chemistry department.

A graduate of Goshen College and Michigan State University, John has worked both as a teacher and a research chemist in industry. He has spent time overseas serving in Central America and Africa with Mennonite Central Committee and Heifer Project International, and has also led Goshen College Study-Service Term Abroad units in Honduras and the Dominican Republic.

The Provost works in partnership with the President in directing on-campus activities. The Provost's office oversees Academic, Financial, and Student Life matters as well as Faculty Committees and Information Technology. Additionally, the Provost is responsible for institutional strategic planning in collaboration with others on our campus.
