Michael Sherer, Director of Information Technology, oversees
the Media and Computing divisions of ITS. Michael is a 1982 GC graduate,
with post-graduate work at Associated Mennonite Biblical Seminaries. Prior
to taking his position at GC, Michael spent seven years at the University
of Notre Dame working as a Senior Analyst. He also currently serves on
the board of Mennonite.net. In addition to his work interests, Michael
is a violinist, violist, lay preacher, devoted husband and father of two daughters.
Gordon Bontrager
Database
Specialist
Gordon Bontrager works for the Data Systems group in ITS.
He administers the college's Oracle database, keeping it running and backed
up. He also provides administrative Oracle support and develops and supports
applications for campus data systems.
Theodore Budiardja
Web/Database Programmer
Theodore is responsible for developing design systems,
services and applications based on enterprise data for use by
the entire campus. Theo design the college's alumni services and is one of the developer's of the college's online timecard system.
Patricia Goodman
Support Specialist
Patricia is responsible for second level technical support to all faculty, staff and students, including software training and IT infrastructure training. She manages the campus software licenses, computer equipment purchases and inventory, computer account creation and support, and assists the IT Director in overseeing the operation of Information Technology Services.
Paul Housholder
Media
Specialist
Paul "no e" Housholder, makes audio/video services
on campus happen. Running the gear at events, training students, speccing
and maintaining the equipment, Paul sees that it all happens professionally
and courteously.
David Kempf Media Specialist
David Kempf is a 2009 graduate of Goshen College with a BA in Communication. He has been working for ITS Media for several years, first as a student employee, then as a graduate intern and now as a full-time staff member.
David King Virtualization Specialist
David King joined ITS in 2010 working with virtualized servers and ZFS storage. David also manages the college's e-Learning infrastructure (Moodle/Mahara) and wired and wireless networks.
Sarah Mlotshwa AV Operations Manager
Sarah takes care of making sure that all requests for Audio Visual
services are processed, details gathered, students assigned, and events
run in a professional manner. Last year Sarah issued over 600 assignments to
serve on campus events, and supported over 1000 requests for equipment
checkout.
Mike McHugh
AV Specialist
Mike provides support for Classroom AV and computing technologies on
campus. Mike wrote and maintains the Crestron touch panel user
interface and is in charge of the classroom e-Control system. Mike also
performs general AV and event support. Mike is currently on a two-year leave of absence.
Pamela Osborne
Support Specialist
Pamela provides first and second level IT support to
faculty, staff and students. She shares the responsibility for IT Training and Orientation. Pamela is the Help Desk Manger and she hires and trains Student Technology
Assistants to provide end-user support. Her STAs staff the student
computing labs, providing day-to-day support and troubleshooting for all end users as well as providing consultant work for students
Ryan Rittenhouse Technical Specialist
Ryan manages the college's email and storage services (GC File), and the college calendar server (Zimbra Calendar). He holds an honorary doctorate in Anti-spamology, conferred by his boss for ongoing innovation in keeping the spam hordes at bay.
Floyd Saner
Faculty Liaison for
Educational Technology
Floyd Saner works with the faculty to facilitate the integration of new
educational technology into the classroom and curriculum. Floyd's
office is located in the Science Hall, Rm 104.
Kim Snyder Media Coordinator
Kim oversees the front desk in
the ITS Media office taking care of lamination, duplication, and
equipment checkout and supervision of student employees.
Dan Stutzman
Senior Desktop Arch. Specialist
Dan is in charge of desktop computing across multiple architectures. He manages Windows and Mac labs and office PCs, as well as maintaining the infrastructure for managing the computers. When he is not busy fixing problems and patching, he is researching ways of improving the desktop computing experience.
