Minor

If you love the piano and want to share that passion with others, the piano pedagogy minor at Goshen College is the perfect way to turn your talent into a meaningful teaching career. You’ll develop the skills and confidence to teach private or group lessons to students of all ages and ability levels.
Through hands-on teaching experience, studio management training, and a strong musical foundation, you’ll learn how to educate and inspire others. With access to expert faculty, personalized instruction, and plenty of performance opportunities, you’ll be well prepared to guide the next generation of pianists with skill and heart.

The piano pedagogy minor includes coursework in pedagogy, private instruction, music theory, and supervised teaching practice.
At Goshen College, your learning will go far beyond textbooks. Through the piano pedagogy program, you’ll observe experienced teachers in action and then apply what you’ve learned by teaching real students under faculty supervision.
