Visiting Associate Professor of Mathematics
Kate received her B.S. in Mathematics from Purdue University in 2015 and her M.A. in Mathematics from Indiana University in 2017. She went on to teach at the Indiana Academy for Science, Mathematics, and Humanities before trading Indiana cornfields for southern California traffic. While in LA, she taught SAT and ACT prep and directed the Math Tutoring Center at El Camino College. Eventually, an irresistible longing for cold grey winters and suffocating summer humidity lured her back to Indiana, where she came out of a brief child-rearing induced retirement to join the faculty at Goshen College — a decision she's quite happy about.
Outside the classroom, Kate can usually be found in the garden in summer, knitting in winter, and with her family in between. She loves living close to
campus, often brings her kids to the office, and enjoys waving at students passing by her house on their way to Shoup-Parsons Woods.
