Scroll through the leadership profiles below to learn more about them and what they are looking forward too on this trip.

    • Dr. Rebecca Stoltzfus

      President of Goshen College

Bio: I graduated from GC in 1983, with a major in Chemistry and lots of involvement in music. I met my husband, Kevin Miller, in chamber choir and chemistry courses. My academic research career allowed me to travel to many parts of the world, including London, but I have not spent much time as a tourist in London. I am so excited to be a student in this grown-up version of Arts in London, with two iconic professors!

What are you most looking forward to on this trip? Spending time with all of you! I also look forward to wandering around neighborhoods and parks, and seeing some exceptional performances.

Fun Fact: I’m a big tea drinker. Also, Sid Stoltzfus and I both got into trouble at EMHS.

    • Jodi Beyeler

      Vice President for Institutional Advancement

Bio: I lead the Communications and Marketing, Development, and Alumni Relations offices to share stories, strengthen connections and advance the college’s mission. I grew up on a corn and soybean farm in Kalona, Iowa, and graduated from Goshen College in 2000 with a communication major and psychology minor. My career at Goshen College began in 2003 as a communications professional. In 2019, I earned an MBA through the college’s Collaborative MBA program. I am a member of Assembly Mennonite Church in Goshen. My husband, Ben, is a 1999 graduate of Goshen College and leads IT at the Goshen Public Library. We have one son, Arthur, who is 14. In my free time, I enjoy reading, walks with friends and being a news hound.

What are you most looking forward to on this trip? I’ve long heard about our amazing Arts in London course, and look forward to finally having the opportunity to experience it. I’m excited to be in a new city to me, learning from our retired faculty and experiencing it all with people who also care deeply about Goshen College.

Fun fact: I admit to being a bit of a British royal family watcher.

    • Trisha D. Handrich

      Senior Director of Development

      Bio:
I’m a 2011 Goshen College graduate with a degree in Communication, and I now serve as Senior Director of Development. I’ve spent the past 10+ years in fundraising, and before that, worked in news radio broadcasting—so storytelling has always been a central part of my career. At GC, I focus on building relationships with alumni and donors, connecting their generosity with the college’s mission and long-term vision. I love that this role allows me to share meaningful stories and stay rooted in the GC community.

What are you most looking forward to on this trip? I didn’t get to participate in Arts in London as a student — and it’s one of my biggest college regrets — so I’m especially excited for the chance to finally go! I’m looking forward to exploring the city and learning from two of GC’s best: Doug and Randy.

Fun Fact: In my free time, I love getting lost in fantasy and sci-fi novels. This year, I’ve challenged myself to read the entire Wheel of Time series — 14 books in all!

    • Doug Liechty Caskey, Ph.D.

Professor Emeritus of Communication and Theater

Bio: A 1982 GC graduate and theater student of Roy Umble and Lauren Friesen, I worked in the Admissions Department 1983-88, then completed my M.A. and Ph.D. in Theater at Bowling Green State University in 1992. After 5 years at Fresno Pacific University, I returned to GC in 1997 and served as chair of the Theater Department until my retirement in 2020. In 1999 the faculty team of Doyle Preheim, Judy Wenig-Horswell and I developed the tri-disciplinary Arts in London course. I taught all 12 offerings of this class from 1999-2023.

What are you most looking forward to on this trip? I thoroughly enjoy connecting people to both historical and contemporary arts experiences in the multi-cultural city of London!

Fun Fact: I first visited London in 1961 when I was 1 year old, then not again until the ripe old age of 39. As a result of teaching Arts in London in May Term, I have spent 13 of my birthdays in London, celebrating most attending a play at Shakespeare’s Globe. This year will be #14. During my sabbatical in 2004, the famous stage and screen actor/director, Mark Rylance, sang “Happy Birthday” to me!

    • Randy Horst, M.F.A.

      Professor Emeritus of Art

      Bio:
Before retiring in 2022 Randy taught art, art history, and graphic design at Goshen College for 13 years. Previous to that he taught at The University of Montana Western in Dillon, Montana and at Bowling Green State University in Ohio. He has led or co-led educational trips to England, France, Italy, Spain, and Morocco.

What are you most looking forward to on this trip? London is one of the Arts capitals of the world – being there is always such an enriching experience for me.

Fun Fact: I likes the Arts in many forms. I also plays upright bass in an acoustic Americana band and in a Jazz band.

    • Kevin W Miller

Major Gift Officer and Spouse to the President

Bio:  I’m a GC alum (1985) whose first job is supporting the GC president. I also love meeting and getting to know our generous alumni and friends. Celebrating generosity in support of our GC students and mission brings deep meaning and fulfillment to my work. And I love playing Wingspan and pickleball.

What are you most looking forward to on this trip? Engaging great artistic expression with good friends.

Fun Fact: I have climbed 49 of Colorado’s 54 peaks over 14,000 feet.
