Assistant Men's & Women's Tennis Coach

Position Summary:
The Assistant Tennis Coach supports the Head Tennis Coach in all aspects of the men’s and women’s tennis programs. This position assists with daily team operations, student-athlete development, recruiting, travel coordination, equipment management, and administrative responsibilities to help ensure a positive and successful collegiate tennis experience.
This is a part-time 10-month position that pays a stipend of $15,000.
Essential Functions:
- Assist the Head Coach with the planning and execution of team practices, competitions, and program activities.
- Coordinate and organize team fundraising opportunities and special events.
- Arrange transportation and travel logistics for practices, competitions, and recruiting activities.
- String, maintain, and repair team tennis racquets as needed.
- Purchase and manage team supplies, equipment, and operational materials within approved budgets.
- Maintain accurate inventory records for team equipment, uniforms, apparel, and training materials.
- Create, update, and manage team calendars, including practices, competitions, travel schedules, recruiting events, and other program activities.
- Assist with the identification, evaluation, communication, and recruitment of prospective student athletes.
- Communicate regularly with current and prospective student-athletes and their families.
- Support match-day operations, including facility setup, scoring, and event management.
- Monitor and assist with student-athlete academic progress and personal development.
- Ensure compliance with institutional, conference, and NAIA rules and regulations.
- Represent the tennis program and institution in a professional manner at all times.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Tennis Coach.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent combination of education, competitive tennis experience, coaching experience, and relevant certifications may be considered.
- Experience participating in or coaching competitive tennis.
Skills & Competencies:
- Knowledge of tennis fundamentals, strategy, and player development.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of NAIA rules and regulations.
Special Requirements:
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel as required.
Physical Demands:
- Assist in driving team van.
- Light lifting & long periods of standing during practices and matches.
Work Environment/Environmental Condition:
- Combination of indoor and outdoor training and administrative work.
