Heavy Equipment Operator/Laborer

Description

The Goshen Environmental Center, operated by Superior Landscape Products, is looking for a dependable, hardworking Heavy Equipment Operator who is willing to take on a variety of responsibilities. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, operating equipment, staying busy, and helping wherever needed.

This is not a sit-in-one-machine-all-day job — duties will vary daily and may include equipment operation, small deliveries, manual labor, basic equipment maintenance, and general shop or yard tasks.

Responsibilities

Operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently (loaders, skid steers, excavators, etc.)
Perform routine equipment inspections and basic machine maintenance
Grease, clean, fuel, and help maintain equipment in good working condition
Complete small material deliveries when needed
Perform manual labor and assist crew members on job sites
Load and unload materials
Maintain clean and organized equipment, trucks, and yard
Assist with miscellaneous tasks and odd jobs as assigned
Follow all safety procedures and company policies
Qualifications

Experience operating heavy equipment preferred
Mechanical aptitude or maintenance experience is a plus
Willingness to perform physical labor when required
Strong work ethic and reliability are a must
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Valid driver’s license required
CDL is a plus but not required
Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work outdoors in varying conditions

Work Schedule & Expectations
Full-time position
Saturdays are expected during spring, summer, and fall
Daily hours may vary depending on workload and project needs
During busy season, workdays often extend past 5:00 PM
Applicants should plan on working 50–60 hours per week during peak season
Requirements

Must pass a pre-employment drug test
Must pass a background check
