AudioVisual Student Technician

Description

Student AV technicians learn the basics of audio/visual operations and use those skills to run campus audiovisual
systems in support of campus events. Level I technicians go through a semester-long training process and will be
required to demonstrate their technical ability before advancing to a level II technician. A Level II technician is expected
to be able to handle basic events on campus with minimal supervision, effectively managing events and troubleshooting
issues on their own.

Assignments may include:
-Running live sound for chapel/convo, lectures, meetings, recitals or concerts
-Setting up video/data projection for meetings, lectures, movie night on the lawn, concerts
-Streaming video of sporting events, music and theater recitals, and lectures
-Editing production recordings, sweetening audio, and publishing finished content
-…and much more!
If you have experience with audio/visual equipment or would like to learn this is a great chance to use your skills and
enjoy campus events.

 

Qualifications

-Promptness and Reliability – ability to show up on time, every time….
-Personal Organization – able to keep track of changing times and technical details
-General comfort with computers and technology; desire to learn new skills
-Willingness to gracefully receive direction and constructive feedback
-Ability to use knowledge to troubleshoot issues and create workaround solutions
-Interest in learning audio/visual technology
