This course focuses on an integrated understanding of the organizational and community context for social work practice while offering students an opportunity to observe and interact with social work practitioners and offer specific services to clients in a 40-hour agency placement. The class introduces the skills needed to engage, assess, intervene and evaluate with clients through the phases of social work practice. Additionally, students
have the opportunity to reflect and process their experiences in the field, participate in experiential class exercises, and discuss topics related to professionalism, ethical decision making, and diversity. Prerequisites: SoWk 200 or consent of instructor. Students furnish their own transportation.
