This course provides an overview of research and language acquisition theories relevant to teaching English language learners, with an emphasis on methodology. Participants will learn and apply research-based strategies to meet the needs of EL students in the areas of listening, speaking, reading, and writing. The course also develops participants’ professional knowledge of WIDA, legislation related to the field of EL, assessment procedures, and individualized learning plans. Offered online.
