Minor in Health

KIN 360, KIN 415, and KIN 420 are offered every other year.

Student Learning Outcomes

Graduates with a Health minor will:

  1. Describe and apply basic principles of fitness, health, human anatomy and physiology.
  2. Demonstrate knowledge and competencies in first aid, CPR, and athletic training.
  3. Describe basic structure and purpose of community health organizations, health literacy, risk behaviors, disease, drug use, mental health and nutritional issues in society.
  4. Demonstrate the ability to promote health behaviors, health behavior change, and teach health concepts.
  5. Demonstrate professional ethical leadership behavior and skills.

Advising Notes

Chemistry prerequisite required for both Biol 203 and Chem 220. Recommended elective courses: Kin 400, Exercise Prescription and Psyc 200, Social Psychology.
