Recording

ITSMedia can provide video and audio recording services for in-classroom instruction. We also provide a limited amount of studio services, voice-over recording, and audio editing in our Union building offices.  For more advanced recording and audio production needs we collaborate with Matthias Stegmann, Music Center Recording Engineer, and utilize the Music Center Recording Services.

TiVo

Professors, if you would like a TV program recorded to show in your class, let ITSM know the date, time and channel and we will program our TiVo to record it for you.  Please read the following copyright guidelines regarding off-air recordings.

Skidmore College has this to say about off-air taping in regard to copyright policy
  • Off-air broadcasts may be videotaped and legally shown once to a single class within the first ten days after the date of the broadcast. This does not allow for multiple showings or general showings within the college.
  • The taping must be from a commercial broadcast (no premium cable channels).
  • After ten days they may not be shown unless copyright clearance is obtained.
  • The professor may retain the tape for an additional 35 days for personal evaluation purposes only. After that time the tape MUST be erased or copyright clearance obtained.
