Student-Run Business: Java Junction
Run a real business—before you graduate.
At Goshen College, hands-on learning means more than just internships—it means stepping into leadership roles that matter. Java Junction, our on-campus coffee shop located in the dorm commons, is a fully student-managed business.
Student employees handle everything from making drinks to managing the floor, while student managers—selected through an application process by the business department—enroll in the Java Junction Operations course and receive academic credit. As a manager, you’ll oversee:
- Operations
- Marketing
- Human resources
- Purchasing
- Accounting
You’ll be supported by a business faculty mentor and graded not just on coursework, but on the real-world success of the business and your leadership contributions.
Java Junction also serves as a beloved community gathering place, offering quality beverages, live music, and space for connection among students, faculty, and the wider Goshen community.
