At Goshen College, studying history isn’t about memorizing names and dates; it’s about uncovering the stories that define cultures, movements, and everyday people, and learning to interpret them with empathy and precision.

History Programs

Understand the past. Think critically about the present. Lead into the future.
At Goshen College, studying history isn’t about memorizing names and dates — it’s about uncovering stories, questioning narratives and understanding how the past shapes the present. Whether you’re preparing for a career in law, education, public service or research, our programs help you develop the skills to think critically, communicate clearly and engage thoughtfully with the world around you.
You’ll study with faculty who are passionate about global citizenship, social justice and helping you connect your academic interests with meaningful career paths. Along the way, you’ll gain hands-on experience through research, internships and opportunities for civic engagement.
Why Choose Goshen College for History?
