Accessibility Services
Our goal is to create an accessible and inclusive learning environment for all students. We work to create partnerships between students, faculty, and staff so you can participate fully in a rich and satisfying college career.
Ask about access services if…
- You are an enrolled GC student with a documented learning disability, physical or sensory impairment, or psychiatric disability
- You had modifications in high school through and I.E.P or 504 plan (colleges don’t have I.E.P.s or 504 plans, but these documents can help begin our conversation)
- You suspect you may have a disability that affects your learning and want to explore your options
Requesting services at Goshen College:
To be eligible to receive accommodations, complete and submit this Accommodation Request Form, along with medical documentation completed by a licensed professional, preferably within the last three years.
This documentation can be submitted to Emily Van Overberghe (evanoverberghe@goshen.edu) and will be kept on file by the Academic Success Center.
Services:
- Helping students advocate for themselves as they discuss their disability and request accommodations
- Test proctoring for students with testing accommodations (see below)
- Coordinating the delivery of academic accommodations and auxiliary aids
- Support and training on assistive technologies such as screen readers and accessibility features on your laptop and iPad (Kelsey McLane, kmclane@goshen.edu)
