About this event

Stripes, spirals, shapes and more! Where can we find hidden patterns in the outdoors? Join us as we read “Flow Spin Grow” by Patchen Barss & Todd Stewart, and then head out on the trail for a short hike. We will make patterns of our own with grasses, sticks, and whatever else we find as we engage in nature’s patterns in the woods. Please prepare yourselves by wearing weather-appropriate clothing as we will be outside.

What is Tales & Trails?

Children and their caregiver(s) gather for a short story that incites curiosity before exploring different locations around Merry Lea’s property. Expect to hear a tale & hike a trail while discovering the natural wonders around you together. This is a 1.5 hour monthly program designed for children ages 3-5, with younger siblings welcome to join, led by a Merry Lea educator.

Registration is not required for this event series: you’re welcome to drop in without registering. By registering for this program you are signing up for the Tales and Trails monthly email list, which shares details like upcoming program location and more!

*Please note that you do not need to sign up for every Tales & Trails program in the series.
