After nearly 30 years in public education, half of those years as a teacher and half as a district administrator, I felt a calling to join Goshen College to prepare the next generation of educators. I began my career as a middle and high school English and social studies teacher, then served as a curriculum director, assistant superintendent and superintendent across three Indiana school districts, large and small. Over that time, I have seen, helped mold, and been shaped by a number of changes in the field, and I have developed in the areas of curriculum and instruction, leadership, and policy development. In my leadership roles, Goshen College always served as a great partner, and now I am honored to be part of a department so connected to the schools in the county and committed to our profession.
