I have always been drawn to helping people, and decided on nursing as a career in high school. I fell in love with maternal and newborn nursing while working on a postpartum floor during nursing school, and have stayed in this specialty ever since. I worked 10 years on The Birthplace at Goshen Hospital as a floor nurse and transitioned to coordinating their Childbirth Education program in 2016. While pursuing my master’s degree, I completed my capstone project with the assistance of the Nursing Department faculty at Goshen College, and I was impressed by how friendly and helpful everyone was. When the opportunity arose to work at Goshen College as a clinical instructor, I jumped at the chance to join such a great institution!
