Goshen College students that are Indiana residents can register to vote from their permanent address or from their temporary address here at the college. The state of Indiana requires that all persons registered to vote in the state of Indiana must have a state-issued ID in order to cast a vote. You can register online to vote in Elkhart County. For additional voter information for the State of Indiana, click here. If you wish to register to vote in your home state or request an absentee ballot, use this link. In the fall, an outside representative comes to campus to help students register to vote. This is arranged through our Student Life office. Each year, the Institutional Research office collaborates with the Athletics department to submit data on Goshen College athletics programs to the U.S. Department of Education in fulfillment of the requirements of the Equity in Athletics Disclosure Act (EADA). These data are filed with the government in the fall semester for the prior academic year. The report is also posted on the Institutional Research website.

Graduation rates for athletes are published annually in the Institutional Fact Book.

The staff of the Goshen College Student Financial Services Office is committed to the highest standards of professional conduct. As members of the National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators, we follow their code of conduct for financial aid professionals. Students with federal loans are required to complete a Master Promissory Note and Entrance Counseling before the loans can be disbursed to their accounts. Students are also required to complete Exit Counseling upon graduation, when the student is no longer enrolled at Goshen College or if the student drops below half-time. The U.S. Department of Education provides low-interest loans to college students. The Financial Aid office can provide more information on the types of loans available and the process for applying for aid.  You can also find information on the US Department of Education’s website.

The U.S. Department of Education annually publishes a three-year cohort default rate every fall. 

Title IV, HEA loans will be submitted to the National Student Loan Data System and will be accessible by guaranty agencies, lenders and schools determined to be authorized users of the data system.

Goshen College annually distributes to all enrolled students a notice of the availability of institutional and financial aid information. This information is required to be made available under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA) and under HEA Sec. 485(a)(1), Sec. 485(f), Sec. 485(g), [Sec. 485(h)] and Sec. 485(j). Students are sent a notification of the availability of Institutional and Financial Aid Information via email and this information may also be obtained through the Student Consumer Information page.

Private loans (also called alternative loans) should only be used after all grants, scholarships and federal loan options have been used or considered. Private student loans are based on credit and the interest rate is based on the credit of the borrower and co-signer. Students who wish to borrow a private loan need to initiate the loan application with a lender of your choice. Goshen College will process loans for any lender you choose. FASTChoice provides families with detailed information about various private loans, as well as the terms and benefits offered by different lenders.

When you take out a federal student loan, you have certain rights and responsibilities as a borrower. More information can be found here.

If you are an Indiana resident and demonstrate financial need, you may qualify for for a state grant. State grant amounts vary and are determined by the FAFSA EFC. Students must complete the FAFSA every year no later than April 15. For more information visit http://www.in.gov/sfa/. Students living outside of Indiana may also be able to obtain state aid. Students should refer to their state’s education department website or contact the Goshen College financial aid office for more information.
