Major: Biology

Why did you choose Goshen?

I chose Goshen because it allowed me to continue to work and pursue my degree while staying close to my family. I found an amazing job that I didn’t want to have to give up to go to school, and Goshen allowed me to continue to pursue my degree while maintaining that opportunity.

Why did you choose your major?

I’ve always had an interest in science, and have always been interested in living things as well: Biology is the study of living things and is therefore a perfect fit!

What career are you interested in pursuing?

I am not sure where the future will take me yet, although I am certain it will involve working with animals. I am currently working with horses and hope to continue to do so until I’m called elsewhere.

What is a valuable experience that you have had at Goshen?

I will always remember how my biology professor, Jody Saylor, emphasized the importance of every tiny function within the world of living organisms. Without each step, nothing would work. I apply this mindset to my life, as each obstacle I come across has its place in sending me where I’m supposed to be.
