Goshen College welcomes 22 new employees for 2025-26

Goshen College welcomed 22 new employees for the 2025-26 school year, some of whom began their duties earlier this year.

New teaching faculty:

Brianna Conery is an assistant professor of nursing. Conery earned a master’s degree in nursing education from the University of Southern Indiana, where she also earned her nursing bachelor’s degree. Most recently, Conery worked as a registered nurse in the labor and delivery unit of the Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center.

Patrick Farran is an associate professor of business. Farran, a former resident director at Goshen College from 1995 to 1997, returns to the school after working for six years at the University of Notre Dame as a senior associate director of graduate business career development. Farran earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois, a master’s from DePaul University and a doctorate from Benedictine University.

Jason Harrison is an assistant professor of business. Harrison is a 2000 Goshen College graduate, earning a bachelor’s degree in business administration before earning a master of Christian formation and youth ministry at Associated Mennonite Biblical Seminary and a doctorate in leadership and organizational development from Andrews University. Harrison has worked in a part-time teaching role at Goshen College since 2023 and is now returning as a full-time assistant professor.

Joey Lyon is an assistant professor of computer science. Lyon earned both his master’s and doctorate degrees in computational mathematical and statistical sciences from Marquette University, where he most recently taught and researched. Lyon received his bachelor’s degree from Loras College.

Alicia Maldonado-Zahra is a scholar-activist fellow. Teaching in the Religion, Justice and Society department, Maldonado-Zahra comes to Goshen College with experience in restorative justice with work at the Center for Community Justice in Elkhart, instructing at Anabaptist Mennonite Biblical Seminary in Elkhart, and conflict resolution at Prodigal Processes, LLC. in South Bend. Maldonado-Zahra earned a master’s degree in peace and theology from Anabaptist Mennonite Biblical Seminary, and a bachelor’s degree in global development and social work from Eastern Mennonite University.

Kathryn Marsh is a visiting assistant professor of mathematics. Marsh earned her bachelor’s degree from Purdue University and her master’s from Indiana University — both in mathematics. Recently, she has worked in a variety of instructional roles, both in the high school and collegiate settings, at institutions such as El Camino College, Indiana University, and the Indiana Academy for Science, Mathematics, and Humanities.
