Behind the scenes interview

Before their May 19, 2023 concert at Goshen College, Girl Named Tom talked with Jodi Beyeler, vice president for communications and people strategy, in this behind the scenes at the GC Music Center.

Part 1: What is a day in the life of Girl Named Tom like? Siblings Caleb ’18 and Joshua ’19 Liechty are GC graduates, and Bekah is now an honorary alumna. Special guest Holly Liechty ’88, mom to Girl Named Tom members and also a GC alumna.

Part 2: GNT checks out the wall outside of the green room of previous performers in Sauder Concert Hall and signs their second photo to add to the wall. Caleb and Joshua Liechty are GC graduates, and Bekah is now an honorary alumna.

Part 3: Caleb, Joshua and Bekah Liechty talk about what has changed for them since they last performed at Goshen College on Oct. 1, 2021.

President Stoltzfus giving Bekah Liechty honorary alumna status

President Stoltzfus gave Bekah Liechty honorary alumna status in recognition of her commitment to living out the college’s mission, core values and motto of “Culture for Service” as a professional musician and in her daily life. Bekah had applied and been accepted to the college in 2019, but decided to pursue her music career during the pandemic and then won The Voice with her siblings. Her parents and her brothers were already graduates.
