The Goshen College Film Production program and FiveCore Media will present the premiere of their newest documentary, ‘Cora Dale: A Rediscovered Harmony’ at the River Bend Film Festival on Thursday, August 28 at 7:30 p.m. at The Goshen Theater.
‘Cora Dale: A Rediscovered Harmony’ covers one of the early 20th century Goshen, Indiana’s most brilliant musical talents: Cora Dale, an accomplished composer and pianist with a flourishing career and a bright future. Yet, the pervasive stigma of mental illness almost erased her extraordinary story from history. Her life, tragically interrupted by a failing mental healthcare system, seemed destined for obscurity. See how the legacy of this remarkable woman now champions mental wellness in the very house where her music once soared.
The event is free and open to the whole community. This is the kick off of the annual three day River Bend Film Festival and the screening will open with local shorts before the documentary and then be followed by a panel discussion.
The short documentary was made by senior Goshen College film production majors, Isabel Massud and Silas Immanuel, as a Goshen College Maple Scholar’s project advised by Kyle Hufford, Professor of Communication.
