TEACHER WORKSHOP: Friday, Nov. 7
Morning session: 8 – 11:30 a.m. | Afternoon session: 12 – 3:30 p.m.
The morning and afternoon sessions are the same, so you are welcome to register for either one. A boxed lunch will be provided to attendees
from both the morning and afternoon sessions.

This half-day workshop will provide you with foundational and practical skills in the science or
reading as it applies to English learners. You will walk away with ways to approach your teaching tomorrow and to think about your instruction longer term.

Each registered participant will also receive a copy of Dr. Cardenas-Hagan’s book Literacy Foundations for English Learners. These sessions are geared toward teachers and para-professionals.

COMMUNITY WORKSHOP: Saturday, Nov. 8 | 9-10 a.m.
This will be a short session for parents and community members to understand what the science of reading is and how it is related to English learners.
The session will be in both English and Spanish. Teachers are also welcome to attend.
