The 60th Anniversary of the Letter from a Birmingham Jail panel discussion is a spiritual and educational event, sponsored by the Goshen College Center for Community Engagement (CCE).
The event brings white clergy from various local churches together to talk about their role in justice for the African American community while also commemorating the 60th anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s historic letter. The discussion will be moderated by Lawrence Giden, pastor and Specialized Community Engagement Coordinator of CCE.
The panel will consist of Rev. Cindy Balch Uhrich, Pastor of Lydick United Methodist Church; Ben Bouwman, Pastor at Walnut Hill Mennonite Church and Andre Stoner, Community Organizer at Faith in Indiana.
The event will begin with a reception in the Fellowship Hall of the Church-Chapel at 5:30 p.m. and the panel discussion will begin at 6 p.m.
