Part-Time Library Assistant in Circulation

Description

Goshen Public Library is seeking a committed customer service representative to work 15-20 hours/week as a part-time Library Assistant in our Circulation Department. The ideal candidate commits to serving Goshen’s diverse populations and views the library as a place where information transforms lives.

Responsibilities include:
Serving at a public service desk
Answering and routing calls
Handling library materials
Creating library cards and updating patron accounts
Answering account questions about and processing payments
Completing other duties as assigned

Qualifications
Required qualifications are:
High school diploma
Desire to welcome and serve a diverse group of patrons
Enthusiasm for public service and proactive customer service
Computer competency
Good organizational skills
Great attention to detail
Ability to work both independently and as part of a teamPreferred qualification are:
Fluent in English and conversational Spanish
College experience

Flexibility in scheduling is necessary. Days, evenings, and weekends are required. This position will require successful completion of a background check.
