Facilities Manager

The Facilities Manager at Bread & Chocolate is a central and important role to our organization. The Facilities Manager is responsible for coordinating setup of event areas, event-related cleaning in event rooms, routine building maintenance, IT coordination, and new product/idea research. Strong communication skills, organization, and attention to detail are essential to this position. 

This is a part time position, with varying hours, (10-20 hours weekly), depending on events. It can occasionally include evening and weekend hours. The weekly schedule is somewhat flexible and hours vary depending on the schedule of events. Rate of pay is determined based on experience and education, taking into account market rates. 

Responsibility

  • Coordinate tear down, setup, and cleaning of event rooms
  • Oversee routine building maintenance, as defined by President
  • Coordinate IT projects, as tasked by President
  • Troubleshoot computers, sound system, internet connectivity issues
  • Inventory and order linens weekly 
  • Maintain current knowledge of cleaning standards and methods
  • Research on new products and ideas, as tasked by President

Requirements

Education and Work Experience

  • Experience and proven ability in basic building maintenance
  • Experience and proven ability troubleshooting basic IT issues
  • High School diploma or equivalent required

  • Ability to develop simple estimates for building maintenance projects
  • Strong computer skills to include, Word, Excel and Outlook; and, the ability to learn and use Caterease program
  • Ability to respond to stressful situations in professional and productive ways
  • Knowledge of how to safely operate power tools and motorized equipment including, but not limited to drills, air compressor, floor buffer, Sawzall, etc. 
  • Basic sound equipment knowledge
  • Must be able to routinely lift 25 lbs repeatedly
  • Must be able to carry 40-50 lbs routinely 
  • Must be able to use a dolly to push around and balance stacks of chairs up to 5 feet tall and up to 120 lbs heavy
  • Must be comfortable working on ladders
