Once you’ve applied and been admitted to GC, we’ll provide you with a full transfer credit evaluation. The evaluation will show you what courses have transferred and what courses are left to complete your degree.
We will accept all credits from regionally accredited institutions. The course level must be 100 and above and the grade must be a C or above.
Goshen College offers a variety of pathways for students transferring from Ivy Tech to obtain their bachelor’s degree from Goshen College
Students who graduate from Ivy Tech with an associate’s degree (including Associate Accelerated Program (ASAP) graduates) are guaranteed admission to Goshen College if they complete the following steps:
Obtain an Associate’s Degree of Arts or Science from Ivy Tech Community College with a cumulative college GPA of 2.0 or higher.
You can obtain your Bachelor’s degree in as little as four years by completing the course of study outlined in one of the following seven Program-Specific Transfer Pathways offered between Ivy Tech and Goshen College:
If you applied to Goshen College for your first year of college and were not admitted, you may be eligible for the Ivy Tech – Goshen College Transition Program.
This program allows you to be reconsidered for admission to Goshen College based on your college GPA rather than your high school GPA.
1. Complete the Ivy Tech – Goshen College Transition Program Contract within six months of receiving your initial admissions decision from Goshen College. Email admissions@goshen.edu to receive a link to the contract.
2. Enroll at Ivy Tech Community College and complete the following required coursework:
a. ENGL 111 (English Composition)
b. COMM 101 (Fundamentals of Public Speaking)
c. A math course (note: the math course can be remedial, but if you take a remedial math course, you’ll need to complete a second non-remedial course (in any subject) of your choice).
d. One additional non-remedial course of your choice.
3. Send your official transcript from Ivy Tech to Goshen College once you’ve completed all of the courses outlined above, and have received at least 12 credits. If you attended other colleges either before or after enrolling at Ivy Tech, please also have official transcripts sent from those colleges to Goshen College.
Program participants with 12-23 college credits must have a cumulative college GPA of 2.5 or higher to be reconsidered for admission to Goshen College. Program participants with 24 or more college credits may have a cumulative college GPA of 2.0 or higher to be reconsidered for admission to GC.
Once your transcript has been received, you will be contacted by a Goshen College admissions representative to confirm your new admissions decision. You will not need to submit a new admissions application.
We want to encourage Transition Program participants to stay on the path towards obtaining your bachelor’s degree as quickly as possible.
Participants in the Ivy Tech – Goshen College Transition Program will automatically receive a $10,000 academic scholarship when you meet the following criteria:
1. You are admitted to Goshen College with a cumulative college GPA of 2.5 or above.
2. You enroll as a transfer student into Goshen College’s traditional undergraduate program with 23 or fewer college credits.
3. You enroll into Goshen College’s traditional undergraduate program within two years of the first term for which you originally applied to attend GC (for example: if you originally applied to enroll at GC in Fall 2022, and were not admitted, you will need to enroll at Goshen College no later than Fall 2024).
Goshen College will accept all credits from Ivy Tech that are a course level of 100 or higher with a grade of C and above.
If you’ve obtained some credits from Ivy Tech, and are now pursuing a bachelor’s degree, you could be eligible for an associate’s degree in general studies or a liberal arts program from Ivy Tech, based on a combination of your previous work at Ivy Tech and current course work.
Ivy Tech Transfer Scholarship – $1,000
Students who transfer from Ivy Tech into our traditional undergraduate program are eligible to receive an annual scholarship of $1,000 ($500/semester). This scholarship is renewable for a total of four consecutive semesters ($2,000 in total) for students who transfer in as juniors. For students who transfer in as sophomores, this scholarship is renewable for a total of six consecutive semesters.
Ivy Tech Associate Accelerated Program (ASAP) Scholarship – $1,000
Graduates of Ivy Tech’s Associate Accelerated Program (ASAP) who enroll at Goshen College are eligible to receive an annual scholarship of $1,000 ($500/semester). This scholarship is renewable for a total of four consecutive semesters ($2,000 in total). Note: ASAP graduates who enroll at Goshen College directly after high school are only eligible to receive the ASAP scholarship. ASAP graduates who enroll at Goshen College as transfer students are eligible to receive the ASAP and Ivy Tech Transfer Scholarship.
