A Quiet Monday

Today was more quiet than most days, beginning with breakfast and then our 2 1/2-hour morning session on Jesus and vocation. Professor Flores finished by telling about how he had intended to be a sociologist and professor, but that God had called him to be a pastor and also a professor. He encouraged students to find ways of inviting God into all dimensions of their lives, and to be open to God’s leading. Students also broke out in two different sessions to discuss Scripture and a reading.

We took the afternoon to relax, take walks, sleep, catch up on journaling, and go to the artisans’ market. About a third of the group went to the artisans’ market, while others stayed back at SEMILLA or walked to the local grocery store to get milkshakes. This evening we’ve been talking and hanging out, calling family back home, and resting. It’s been a good day to kick back a bit before the schedule gets more intense beginning tomorrow.
