Charles Castleman, professor of violin at The Eastman School of Music and Miami (Florida) University, will present a visiting artist recital on Friday, Feb. 6 in Rieth Recital Hall, in the Goshen College Music Center. The recital will begin at 7:30 p.m.
Seven student winners of the 2014-15 Goshen College Concerto-Aria Competition will perform arias and concerto movements with the Goshen College Symphony Orchestra in the 55th annual Concerto-Aria Concert on Feb. 7 at 7:30 p.m. in Sauder Concert Hall.

Three members of the Goshen College Music Department will present a faculty voice recital in Rieth Recital Hall on Friday, Jan. 23. Performing will be Scott Hochstetler, baritone, and Rebecca Dengler Kaufman, mezzo-soprano, with pianist Christine Larson Seitz. The recital will begin at 7:30 p.m.
Director and graduate of Goshen College (1988) and Bethany Christian High School (1984) Bruce A. Hostetler will present the 2015 Roy H. Umble Master Class on Jan. 20-24, featuring workshops, a keynote address and a reading of his newest play “Feral.” All events are free and open to the public.

Merry Lea Environmental Learning Center of Goshen College will host its third women’s spirituality retreat, “Out of the Whirlwind,” from Friday, Jan. 23 to Saturday, Jan. 24. The retreat will begin at 7:30 p.m. on Friday evening and end mid-afternoon on Saturday.
Bob Emser, a sculptor and aviation enthusiast, is the Goshen College Art Department’s 2015 Eric Yake Kenagy Visiting Artist and will deliver a public lecture on Sunday, Jan. 25 at 7 p.m. in the Goshen College Music Center’s Rieth Recital Hall, with a reception immediately following in the Music Center’s Hershberger Art Gallery. The presentation and reception are free and open to the public.
January 2015 events include performances by Boston Brass and the Enso String Quartet, Merling Trio, and the Martin Luther King Jr. Study Day events.
