Goshen College heads to the Middle East with new study abroad location in Egypt
With the current international situation being described as the "clash of civilizations" (the clash between the two largest religious traditions in the world, Islam and Christianity), Goshen College has decided that now is the time to "find its way to the Middle East in a new opportunity for learning through our well-established Study-Service Term program," said President James E. Brenneman. The decision was made public at the April 14 Goshen College Afternoon Sabbatical international luncheon, which featured Egypt.

Goshen College English Department launches new Center for Mennonite Writing online
For Mennonites and non-Mennonites interested in Mennonite writing, there is now one place to go online for a multitude of resources: the Center for Mennonite Writing (CMW). CMW, a project of the Goshen College English Department, was launched as a Web site in the middle of January at: www.mennonitewriting.org.
Goshen College professors of nursing and biology retire after 67 years
Their educations began in the same place and their careers ended in the same place. Coincidentally, Goshen College Professor of Nursing Evelyn Driver and Professor of Biology Stan Grove went to the same elementary school, graduated the same year from Eastern Mennonite High School in Harrisonburg, Va., and then both retired this year from 67 years combined of teaching at Goshen College. In the intervening years, their careers have been focused in different directions: one on the world of nursing and the other on the biological world.
Historical Library purchases rare piece of Anabaptist history
To add to its already extensive list of original Anabaptist writings, the Mennonite Historical Library (MHL) and Goshen College have recently purchased a rare book of Anabaptist martyr accounts and hymns that pre-dates "Martyrs Mirror" (first edition, 1660)- the famous 1,290 page book that documents Anabaptist martyrs.

Goshen College President James E. Brenneman called for greater dialogue and exchanges between Christians and Muslims as he concluded a trip in which he led Goshen College board members and supporters to Egypt and the United Arab Emirates.
