Organist Thomas Fielding to perform Nov. 19

Thomas Fielding

Organist and composer Thomas Fielding will present a Rieth Chamber Series concert on Sunday, Nov. 19 at 4 p.m. in Goshen College Music Center’s Rieth Recital Hall.

In celebration of the 500th year of the Reformation, Fielding will present a program including works by Buxtehude, Bach and Fielding.

Fielding is a graduate of the Indiana University Jacobs’ School of Music, and he is currently serving as the director of music and liturgy for St. Augustine Cathedral in Kalamazoo, Michigan.

He has taken first prize in the national Arthur Poister (Syracuse, NY) and San Marino (CA) performance competitions, has won several national composition prizes and has been the recipient of several full-tuition scholarship awards at Indiana University.

His performing credentials include the St. Paul Cathedral in London and the famed Flentrop “E. Power Biggs” organ at the Adolphus-Busch Hall at Harvard University, among others.

Fielding’s compositions have been published with the Choristers’ Guild, EC Schirmer, GIA and Boosey & Hawkes, and they have been performed by soloists and ensembles throughout North America, Europe and Asia.
