The Community School of the Arts will hold open auditions this month for participation in 2016-17 choral and instrumental ensembles. Auditions will take place in the Goshen College Music Center and are open to any interested student.

Auditions for the CSA Choirs will be held on Sunday, May 22 from 2 – 4 p.m. Additional auditions will take place in August.

The CSA has three youth choirs: Rejoice (grades 3-5) directed by Kristin Kauffman; Shout for Joy (grades 6-8) directed by Sandy Hill; and Sommo Voci (grades 9-12), directed by Marcia Yost. All singers in rising grades 3-12 are eligible to participate. No prior singing experience is necessary. Visit gcmusiccenter.org/csachoirs for more information.

Auditions for the Youth Honors Concert Orchestra (grades 6-8) and Symphony Orchestra (grades 9-12) will be held on Monday, May 16, 2016 from 4- 7 p.m. in the Goshen College Music Center.

Participation in the YHCO is open by audition to any interested Elkhart County string students in grades 6-8; participation in the YHSO is open by audition to any interested string, woodwind, brass, or percussion student in grades 9-12. Visit gcmusiccenter.org/yho for more information.

Participation in all CSA choral and instrumental ensembles requires registration and tuition payment through the Community School of the Arts. Tuition is $100/semester plus registration fee. Financial aid is available on a sliding scale based on the federal free and reduced lunch guidelines.
