Norell piano duo to perform Nutcracker Suite for Afternoon Sabbatical holiday performance

Afternoon Sabbatical: The Norell Piano Duo Presents Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker Suite

Wife-and-husband piano duo, Luke and Mary Rose Norell, will ring in the holiday season with their performance of Tchaikovsky’s “Nutcracker Suite” played on two pianos. Their performance will also feature works by Bach and Liszt.

The hour-long performance will take place Tuesday, Dec. 15, at 1 p.m. in the Goshen College Music Center’s Sauder Concert Hall and is free and open to the public.

Dr. Mary Rose, a Goshen native, serves with the Goshen Community School of the Arts as activities director and piano faculty. She received her bachelor’s degree and Master of Music degree from Indiana University Jacobs School of Music and her Doctorate of Music from Northwestern University Bienen School of Music.

Dr. Luke Norell, a Minnesota native, also serves with the Goshen Community School of the Arts as piano program director. He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Northwestern (St. Paul) and his master of music and doctorate of music degrees from Indiana University-Bloomington.
