Michiana Regional Seed Swap – Fifth Annual

The Michiana Regional Seed Swap is a resource for regional residents
in Michiana and beyond to exchange and learn about seeds. Join fellow gardeners, growers and plant enthusiasts to gather and exchange seeds, compare and discuss varieties, attend educational sessions and more.

New this year: the swap will include a focus on native plants in addition to vegetable/garden crops!

Participants are not required to bring seeds to the event, but if you save seed, please bring them along!

Location:  Goshen College Church-Chapel  |  1700 S Main St, Goshen, IN 46526
When: Saturday, January 21, 2023  |  10 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
Cost: Free, with opportunities to buy seeds.
Registration: Not required

Seed Swap Description
This event will include:

  • Educational Sessions on various topics by different speakers.
    • See below for details!
  • Resource Tables & Vendors for regional businesses, organizations and individuals offering seeds for sale or trade, food-related projects, work or other items of interest.
  • Community Seed Tables with free seeds provided through generous donations. Participants can take and provide seeds. Bags and labels will be provided, but we ask participants to take only what you will plant.
  • Bulletin Boards for posting about volunteer or gardening opportunities, ads for wanted or available seeds, or other topics.
  • Connecting with Community Members around seeds. This is valuable for swapping seed varieties, giving gardening advice and more.

    • Interested in learning more about what the best crops to start with are for a beginning seed saver? Learn about various techniques & best practices for seed storage during this talk! No experience required!
