Merry Lea Adventure Challenge: Vernal Liberation

The plants and animals of Merry Lea have worked hard to survive winter.
Now they’re getting ready for spring…but some need your help. Does your family have what it takes to aid in this spring renewal? Work as a team to solve puzzles and navigate the landscape to free birds, mammals, amphibians, trees, wildflowers and insects so they can burst into spring!

Lead the Vernal Liberation by climbing glacial mounds steep enough to need a rope, observing a continental divide from a hill, and finding the bats in the shagbark hickory, duck eggs or other secrets that lie on the private island…!

Families with elementary-aged kids can sign up for Vernal Liberation to explore a Merry Lea property rarely opened to the public. Come prepared for a rugged landscape, off-trail travel, steep slopes and plenty of underbrush. If you’re up for navigating a tricky space and tangled puzzle, then this is the program for you!

Cost: $3.50 per child & $5 per adult
Location: Learning Center  |  2388 S 500 W Albion, IN 46701
During the program, participants will caravan to the alternative location, following the Merry Lea educator in their own vehicles.
Registration: Required by noon on March 18 (see below)

Following the CDC’s recent change in guidance around mask requirements and the very low number of local positive cases, we have updated our mask policy.
