As emerging technologies change and shape the way we approach learning in the classroom and productivity in the workplace, it is essential that our knowledge of different technologies and software applications continue to expand and grow.
The Help Desk at Goshen College is committed to providing resources and training to assist our faculty, staff, and students in the classroom and on the job. To accomplish this, we have partnered with Atomic Learning, an award-winning provider of online technology training and support. Through this partnership we are able to make available to faculty, staff and students the practical application of technology in education and in the workplace. Faculty will also have access to training and resources needed to create college and career-ready students with 21st century skills.
Atomic Learning offers 24/7 access to professional development resources and just-in-time training and support for over 205 software applications and technologies, such as Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, Moodle, Keynote, and the iPad, to name a few. Their training resources are available through a series of one- to three-minute video tutorials. You can watch a video that is geared towards a specific topic or “how to” question, or you can view a series of videos to master an entire software application.
Accessing Atomic Learning’s Resources
To access Atomic Learning’s Resources, go to
You will be directed to our Moodle site to log in, and then forwarded on to Atomic Learning’s site.
Once at the Atomic Learning site, you will be presented with four tabs; “Search,” “Favorites,” “My Training,” “Spotlights”, and “My Campus Training.” The following paragraphs explain what each of these four sections offer.
The Search area allows you to quickly find the answer to a specific technology question.
- Type your question or keywords into the text field.
- Set any filters you’d like to use in the drop-down menus.
- Click the ‘Search’ button.
- The resulting list contains application titles. Click an application title to expand the list and display individual lesson titles, then click a lesson title to view the tutorial in the player window.
The Favorites section is where you can find a list of any lessons that you have marked with a Star to add to your Favorites list.
The ‘My Training’ section consists of any training that was assigned to you, any training that was recommended for you, and assessments of your training.
The Spotlights section provides a structured training path so you can quickly find workshops, projects, and tutorials related to a focused topic.
My Campus Training
The My Campus Training section provides any training sessions that were made available to the entire campus from the ITS department.
Access Atomic Learning on your iPad or other tablet device
Atomic Learning’s website is tablet compatible. Simply go to https://www.goshen.edu/atomiclearning on your iPad or tablet. You will be directed to our Moodle site to log in, and then forwarded on to Atomic Learning’s site.
If you are using an iPad, you can add a link to Atomic Learning on your iPad’s Home Screen with the following instructions:
- On your iPad, go to https://www.goshen.edu/atomiclearning and log in.
- Tap on the ‘add a bookmark’ icon
- Tap on the “Add to Home Screen” option.
