Michael Sherer, Director of Information Technology
Michael Sherer oversees the Media and Computing divisions of ITS. Michael is a 1982 GC graduate (English, Music double major, TESOL minor), with an MA in Theological Studies from  Associated Mennonite Biblical Seminaries. Prior to taking his position at GC, Michael spent seven years at the University of Notre Dame working as a Senior Analyst in Office of Information Technology. He also currently serves on the board of Mennonite.net. In addition to his work interests, Michael is a violinist, violist, lay preacher, devoted husband and father of two daughters.


  Patricia Goodman,
Assistant Director, IT Services and Support

Patricia is responsible for day-to-day operations of ITS Computing, including project management and the services provided and the support rendered to the campus community, and she provides direction and coordination between the technical and support aspects of Information Technology Services. Patricia provides operational support to campus-wide roll-outs of new software programs and upgrades, creats and maintains software and IT infrastructure training material, as well as provids training to all faculty, staff and students. She is also responsible for campus software license procurement and management, and computer account creation and maintenance.   Patricia is a member of the IT Steering Committee, whose purpose is to advance the strategic planning and the direction of IT at Goshen College. Patricia joined ITS in 1994 and is a 2011 graduate of Goshen College, with a B.S. in Organizational Leadership and a minor in Art.


   David King, Enterprise Virtualization Specialist
David King joined ITS in 2010 working with the virtualization infrastructure. David also manages the college’s e-Learning environment (Moodle/Mahara) and wired and wireless networks.

   Erin Milanese, Instructional Technology Support Specialist
Erin is available to answer questions and provide training on Moodle and other technology that faculty want to integrate into the classroom.  Erin splits her time between ITS and the library, where she is the Sciences Librarian.  Her office is located in the Good Library.

   Gordon Bontrager, Database Specialist 
Gordon Bontrager works for the Data Systems group in ITS. He administers the college’s SQL Server database, keeping it running and backed up. He also provides administrative database support and develops and supports applications for campus data systems.


   Pamela Kistler-Osborne, Help Desk Manager
Pamela is responsible for systems, staffing and smooth operation of the Help Desk. She supervises approximately 20 Help Desk employees, provides first and second level support for employees and students, created and oversees the peer-to-peer student consultant program, creates webpages and helps maintain the Help Desk website, creates training materials and helps lead training sessions for new software and services, troubleshoots hardware and software problems, and serves as backup for computer account creation. Pamela is also the ResNet Liaison for Student Life.

   Peter Miller, Instructional Systems Analyst


   Seth Unruh, Desktop Architecture Specialist
Seth is a 2009 graduate of Goshen College with a B.A. in Mathematics. He is responsible for desktop computing across multiple architectures. Seth manages Windows and Mac computer in labs and offices, as well as laptops and iPads. He also has the awesome responsibility of maintaining the necessary infrastructure for managing all of these technologies. When Seth is not busy fixing problems and patching, or researching ways of improving the desktop computing experience, he enjoys playing basketball and ultimate frisbee.
