Associate Professor of Theater, Dept. Chair
Anna recently co-mentored two students for the Maple Scholars project EnACTing Support. The result of this work continues on campus. Through applied theater exercises, student actors offer workshops for responsible employees in an effort to promote positive support for survivors of sexual misconduct. Anna is proud to offer continued support of this work by training the actors who take part in the workshops. Thanks to a group of dedicated students, we continue to promote this work on the GC campus and hope to take it to other area colleges and educational institutions.
For the theater department Anna teaches a variety of courses including Acting I and II, Directing, Playwriting, Contemporary Drama, Survey of Musical Theater, Movement for the Stage, and Audition Technique. She also teaches in the Core including Core 100- Identity, Culture, and Community; Core 106; Academic Voice; and Theater for Social Change, which is an Artistic World perspective course.
Anna recently applied for and received a President’s Renewal Grant. With this grant she studied movement and mask work with Dell’Arte International at Soma Studios in Minneapolis, MN. She also recently studied Chekhov with the Moving Dock Theatre in Chicago and attended the Broadway Teachers Workshop in New York City.
