Administrative Assistant for the Center for Community Engagement

The Administrative Assistant is responsible for supporting the Executive Director and four directors in the Center for Community Engagement. Reporting to the Executive Director. This is a half-time position.

Required Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Ability to work with a variety of students, faculty, staff and community members.
  • Strong knowledge and experience using various digital platforms (e.g. Google suite, Microsoft Office, etc.)
  • Demonstrates intercultural competency skills with different racial/ethnic groups, LGBTQ+, and international students
  • Ability to maintain a positive approach under pressure
  • Demonstrated organizational skills with attention to detail and a strong follow-through on tasks
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to plan and organize events as needed
  • Professional demeanor and maturity
  • Demonstrated understanding of, and a commitment to the college mission and purpose and student success

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous administrative assistant experience
  • Knowledge of Elkhart County, specifically North Goshen and/or South-Central Elkhart
  • Ability to work a flexible work schedule including evenings and weekends as needed
  • Ability to efficiently multitask and conduct/complete independent work assignments
  • Fluent in both Spanish and English
  • Comfort and familiarity with social media platforms for professional purposes

Administrative Assistant Activities: 50%

  • Assists with the GivePulse Database maintenance and answering questions from  partners and stakeholders
  • Maintains data in line with CCE outcomes and grant requirements
  • Tracks progress toward grant-related goals
  • Maintains and regularly publishes an up-to-date calendar of CCE events
  • Updates website resources
  • Schedules and organizes CCE meetings, takes and files minutes, and communicates outcomes with partners
  • Assists with other related tasks as assigned by the Executive Director and the CCE Directors
