Newcomer Administrative Assistant

Goshen College invites applications for an Administrative Assistant for the Business, Communication, and English Departments. The Administrative Assistant must be organized, self-motivated, able to prioritize daily responsibilities, flexible, and comfortable using a computer and various software programs. The Administrative Assistant assists academic departments in event planning and program implementation, as well as assisting individual faculty with administrative tasks. This is a half-time position with varying work hours during the school year and no work hours during June and July.

Qualifications:

A high school diploma, with at least two years of office experience is preferred.

Skills Required:

  • Strong ability to prioritize responsibilities without close supervision
  • Able to simultaneously manage multiple tasks and responsibilities for many different people
  • Computer competence in Google Drive (Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, Calendar, Mail), Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and Powerpoint)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable asking questions and solving problems
