Student Life Administrative Assistant

Goshen College seeks applicants for a full-time Student Life Administrative Assistant to begin immediately. Duties include providing administrative support for Dean of Students, Residence Life, Safety & Housing, Retention, Student Leadership, Parent Engagement, and Campus Ministries, in addition to lead cashiering. Responsibilities for the lead cashier executes a variety of transactions including but not limited to: accepting payment for a variety of services, verification payment type received, issuing of refunds, checking and verifying account balances for customers, and the transferring of funds as a payment.


Education and/or Experience: High School graduate required; Associate’s or Bachelor of Arts preferred. Three to five (3-5) years of previous administrative assistant and cashiering experience required. Customer service, attention to detail, required. Familiarity with Jenzabar database management, preferred. Bilingual Spanish, required.

Skills Required: Ability to maintain confidentiality when working with highly classified information. Possess strong word processing skills and understanding of Microsoft and Google productivity software applications; maintain professional telephone etiquette; efficiently organize and execute work assignments and job priorities. Ability to work under pressure but be flexible and handle an office with very high traffic flow. Have an interest in college campus environment and continuous interaction with students, faculty, staff and the general public. Ability to work overtime and weekends during seasonal periods of high workflow.
