English as a New Language Instructor

The Office of Graduate and Continuing Studies (OGCS) of Goshen College seeks 2 part-time English as a New Language Instructors; 16 hours per week to start on January 11, 2018 thru June 30, 2018.

 

The focus of this position is teaching English as a new language to community adults. The English instructor will plan, organize, and provide instruction in English in the curricula set by Goshen College. The English instructor will develop and deliver lesson plans utilizing a broad range of appropriate differentiated techniques and strategies addressing all aspects of communication that develop each student’s ability to read, write, speak, and listen in content areas at levels that ensure learners meet or exceed learning targets. The English instructor will provide a nurturing, supportive, and positive learning environment with high expectations that encourage student responsibility, enhance motivation, clearly communicate classroom routines, and incorporate challenging instructional strategies.

Qualifications:

B.A. in English or TESOL. Experience in teaching English as a New Language.

Skills: Applicants should have experience in writing lesson plans, balancing individual and group learning, communicating with many cultures, and have basic word processing skills.
