Custodial Supervisor

Goshen College seeks applicants for a full-time custodial supervisor.

Description and Responsibilities:

Provide supervision of the housekeeping function for all campus buildings and facilities. Responsible for hiring, training, and supervising all custodians and student employees in the custodial department. Responsible for selecting, ordering and maintaining all cleaning material, supplies and equipment needed for the department. Responsible for the health and safety training for the department. Reports to the Director of Facilities.

Qualifications:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

4-year college degree or compensatory experience of at least three years management.

Mental Demands/Skills:

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal are essential.  Knowledge of efficient and successful methods of cleaning, knowledge and awareness of health and safety issues, organizational and management skills, and the ability to prioritize.

Physical Demands:

Bending, lifting up to 50 lbs, reaching and pulling. Must be able to climb stairs. Must be able to work on a ladder. Must be able to work on his/her feet for a long time. Visual capabilities require reading of label on cleaning products and the ability to do on-site inspections of custodial cleaning.
