Business Health Check

This seminar series that will be held over six consecutive Wednesday mornings (7:30-9:00am) from September 22 – October 27 at the Goshen College Church Chapel (room 300).  A continental breakfast will be available beginning at 7:00am.

Our purpose is to identify, explore and discuss some key challenges that all businesses must address to ensure a healthy, profitable and sustainable organization. We will focus on several areas that, although critical to the long-term survival and success of the business, are not always given as much attention as they should. The underlying objective of this seminar is to help participating businesses to assess the current state of health of their own organizations and to share ideas and best practices with each other on how to address the common challenges faced in these critical areas.

Each session will begin with a brief introduction of the business area to be explored and try to identify some of the key elements within that area that require our attention. Along the way, we will explore some of the challenges that arise in managing these activities, and share ideas and approaches to resolving these challenges. In each seminar session, several prominent local companies have agreed to share how they have addressed some of the particular challenges of that business area or activity. After hearing from our invited guests, we will then open the floor to a facilitated discussion of ideas and best practices that are currently being used by the companies participating in this seminar.

We encourage you to actively participate in the discussion and sharing of ideas and approaches to shared business challenges. In order to prepare the participants for each session, a brief questionnaire will be provided to each registered company to help you reflect on and assess how your organization approaches the challenges to be discussed in each seminar session.
